What a weekend!

Whew! What a weekend. Our plans were to stay home and hang out with a friend that is in town from Tulsa this weekend. I had plans to get lots of scrapping done and clean some house, do some laundry, etc. Well, not much of any of that happened. I got home Friday at 6 to a hot house. Yep, the AC went out again. Called the landlord and after a second call to the landlord the AC guy finally called. Around 10:30 pm Dude showed up and said the compressor was shot and he would be back first thing in the AM with a new unit. Well, Saturday around one pm we called said AC guy to see where in the heck he is. By the way, it was damn hot in here by that time and we were cranky due to loss of sleep (it was hot in here at night too). AC guy said that the parts house wanted to charge an extra $250 to open on a holiday weekend. My brother (he could have fixed/installed it for me) says they closed at Noon on Saturday and AC guy didn't get there in time to buy the unit. So AC guy brings out a "back up" unit and installs it; but they didn't bring enough freon to fill it up. Said they would go get some and be back in an hour. We went out to run some errands and hang out with out of town friend to let the house cool off. When we got home it was warm in the house. Brother said that the unit froze up because it didn't have enough freon in it. Called AC guy again, said his guys would be back first thing in the AM to fix. Sunday around 1pm, no AC guys. Called the AC guy to see where in the F they are. (yes we are getting tired of this). Said his guys would be heading out here in about an hour, said they would call us when they were on their way. So we went to breakfast, then to Starbucks to stay cool and mess around with stuff. They called and said they would be here in about thrity minutes. An hour and fifteen minutes later they finally show up. We finally have AC, slept really good last night. It was kind of cold in here, had to snuggle and turn the AC up when I got up. Tomorrow they are supposed to get a new unit and install it. We will see how that goes.

I did get to scrap a little, I finished one layout and used my Pirate Ship die on it. I still need to scan it so I will have to post it later. I also started another layout and am almost finished with it. Off to finish that one and hopefully start on my Halloween box for the swap I am in.

Tickle Tickle layout.

This is the layout that I did during my small crop time over the weekend. I used Lil Davis paper (Love the blues and greens together on this one) and journalling stamp, Heidi Swapp ghost flowers, Prima flowers and American Crafts brads. The title font is Stone Soup by Boss Kuts and the scalloped circles are Quickutz Cookie Cutter dies. This is my Mom tickling my brother, this was so funny. He would smack me for tickling him like this. Now, I am off to email my brother to show him that I posted this on my blog for everyone to see!! Insert "Evil little sister" giggle here. LOL

Back from CK Tulsa

We got back from Tulsa last night around 8, Shadow was so happy to see us! He got a butt scratching with is brush (he can't reach back there) and thoroughly enjoyed it! CK Tulsa was disappointing! I didn't take any classes, so I can't really comment on those. But, the Vendor Faire was a waste of money. They didn't have anything I was looking for (I am looking for old Basic Grey and Crate papers). They had the ones that they always have...SEI, Rusty Pickle, Heidi Swapp and Cropper Hopper (Advantus) and a bunch of cutsie page kit booths that I am not into. Technique Tuesday was there but didn't have any of their new stuff. I did get some QK dies at 30% off though. I wasn't able to crop much, all the crops at the LSS's were full so I only got to crop for about two hours (one page). I will finish the page today and post it soon.

This page is one that I started and mostly finished at the Remember When crop earlier this month. I used DCWV Once Upon a Time paper, die cuts, clitter chipboard letters and ribbon; Prima flowers, Imaginisce gem brads, Sonnets Faux Wax Seals. This is Randy at Scarby this year. I don't know who the wench is, Randy said that she was amused that he was tall enough to rest his arm on her head (apparently she is pretty tall herself). Our friend Glenn (not my brother) took this picture and actually caught Randy smiling. I love it when he smiles, I get so few pictures of him smiling though. Good job Glenn!

Whew it's Hot!

Darn it's hot today! I had some errands to run today and now I am trying to cool off so that I can begin packing and cleaning the house. We leave in the AM for Tulsa, as soon as Randy gets home from work we are off. Gotta pack my SB stuff and some clothes, do some laundry, clean the kitchen and make dinner for K & D who will be pet sitting this weekend for us.
I started this layout at a crop that I went to a couple of weeks ago at Remember When... I didn't like it at first, but at that time it was only the white strip, the PP and the pics. After I added the title and all the embellies, I like it alot better. The white paper on the side and the die cut butterfly and dragonfly are all made out of the Doodlebug Sugar Coated Cardstock (it has glitter all over it) although you can't see it well. Most of the other stuff is K Ology or Making Memories. I wanted to play with the grommet setter thing that I bought and never used. Turned out pretty cool.

More Ribbon Storage

Here is my solution for spooled ribbon. I use to have it on a dowel stuck through my wire target racks. I found that really annoying because all the ribbon would come off the spools and when I used a whole spool, the only way to get it out was to take them all off. I saw these cool boxes at GASC Arlington and had to get some. I bought two and needed two more! These are from Craft Mates and have dividers inside (I took them out, it made more room). The two smaller ones are the Cropper Hopper ones; they are OK but not as sturdy as the Craft Mates ones.

I had a ton of loose ribbon that wasn't on spools yet and didn't feel like putting all that ribbon on spools (some of my baskets are pretty full, too) so I made this little bag. Someone thought this up and is marketing it for like $20, it's a clear makeup bag with holes in it. Good idea, but $20 for it is nuts! I don't know how big it is though but still...$20???!!! I got the little bag at Wally World for $3.88 and sat down with my trusty Crop a Dile and Vwalla a ribbon storage that I can take with me to crops!!! See.....

Vacation!

Hello All
Having a wonderful vacation this week. I am messing around in my scrap room organizing and getting some stuff done! I organized my ribbon this week. I have TONS of ribbon and have changed the way I store the loose ribbon. I had most of my loose yardage on wooden pins in baskets or fish bowls or spaghetti jars. I changed it to all baskets and made tags for each basket. See....

I also rearranged some of my room. Moved the wire things and the white Elpha basket thing. I finally get to put my stuff back in the wire thing!

Half of the wire thing use to be on this table. It took up lots of room! I stacked them on the wall after we got rid of the love seat that was on that wall. This is a pick of my Ink Pad Lockers and my Alpha storage and some misc. Sterlite drawers with supplies in them.

Kiss Me

This is a layout of me kissing DH at Texas Renaissance Festival in Houston in 2004 (?) I used Basic Grey paper and Alpha stickers and Maya Road ribbon slide.

This is my new blog...Sheets of Memories

This is my new blog. I plan on posting my paper art on this blog and stuff like that.
